Tour description

We depart from Calafate to Bajo la Sombra Port (8km before the walkways of Perito Moreno Glacier) where you are going to take a 20 minute boat ride to cross along Rich Branch of Lake Argentino. You will disembark at the southwest coast of the lake and get to a mountain shelter where the guides will divide you into groups of 20 people to start the walk towards the glacier. Before getting on the ice, the guides will give you crampons. The hike on the glacier takes approximately one hour and a half, time in which you will be able to see crevasses, water holes and small lagoons. The hike takes place in an irregular but firm and safe ice surface, and the difficulty is moderate. The boat ride back to the port gives you a close view of the ice walls.
 
Included:
Transfer from hotel to the port, a visit to the walkways, transfer back to El Calafate.
 
Not included:
National Park Entrance Fee, lunchbox, clothes or personal equipment.
 
Optional transfer:
For those, who do not have their own mobility to get from El Calafate to El Parque Nacional (80 km), we will offer the transfer by bus from the hotels, it includes one hour visit to the footbridges or panoramic viewpoint where they will be received by a guide of the company.
 
Requirements:
Clothing: Comfortable and warm clothing: waterproof jacket, waterproof long trousers and hiking boots, medium backpack, sunglasses, sunscreen, gloves, wool hat.Lunch: Bring lunch box and bottle of water. The Company does not have a food or drinks sales service.Cash: in national currency, to pay the entrance to the Los Glaciares National Park, since that value is not included in the price.
 
Restrictions:
This excursion, due to the degree of effort and difficulty that presents, is only suitable for people between 10 and 65 years old.
 
NOT overweight people should participate; To this end, those exceeding the following criterion shall be considered: weight in kilograms greater than twice the height in cm minus 100 (for example, for a height of 1,70 m: 170 minus 100 = 70 x 2 = 140); Pregnant women, persons with any degree of physical or mental disability affecting their care, walking and / or coordination; People suffering from central or peripheral cardiovascular diseases, their cardiac or vascular capacities are diminished, or they use stents, pacemakers or other prostheses; (For example: medicated with anticoagulants, varicose veins, grade III - those that are thick and multiple evidence - cardiac arrhythmias); People suffering from diseases that cause respiratory disabilities (COPD, asthma, emphysema, etc.).
