We depart from Calafate to Bajo la Sombra Port (8km before the walkways of Perito Moreno Glacier) where you are going to take a 20 minute boat ride to cross along Rich Branch of Lake Argentino. You will disembark at the southwest coast of the lake and get to a mountain shelter where the guides will divide you into groups of 20 people to start the walk towards the glacier. Before getting on the ice, the guides will give you crampons. The hike on the glacier takes approximately one hour and a half, time in which you will be able to see crevasses, water holes and small lagoons. The hike takes place in an irregular but firm and safe ice surface, and the difficulty is moderate. The boat ride back to the port gives you a close view of the ice walls.
Transfer from hotel to the port, a visit to the walkways, transfer back to El Calafate.

For those, who do not have their own mobility to get from El Calafate to El Parque Nacional (80 km), we will offer the transfer by bus from the hotels, it includes one hour visit to the footbridges or panoramic viewpoint where they will be received by a guide of the company.

This excursion, due to the degree of effort and difficulty that presents, is only suitable for people between 10 and 65 years old.
